THE ART OF PERSONAL INFLUENCE (LEADERSHIP)

Every individual has influence. Using it effectively means doing the right things (versus doing things right). It is about "picking your shots" and using your influence to support others. Influence is about leadership, which is not the private reserve of a few charismatic men and women, but the process ordinary people use when they're bringing forth the best of themselves and others. The opportunity for positive influence is available to all of us, every day.

ETHICS: DWWSWWD (Do What We Say We Will Do)

Ethics is about inner impulses, judgments, and knowledge of professional obligations. Ethical fitness is the capacity to recognize the nature of a challenge and respond with a strong perception of the difference between right and wrong (although often the dilemma is between two right choices). We do not always have time to go through a lengthy decision-making process, so we need to become ethically fit by training on a regular basis. For ethics to be practical and applicable, it must be understood as the stuff of daily life.

COACHING: A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON SERVICE DELIVERY

Coaching is a powerful alliance designed to forward and enhance the life long process of human learning, effectiveness and fulfillment. The underlying principle is that clients are naturally creative, resourceful and whole. Coaching addresses the client's whole life, and focuses on fulfillment (living with conscious values), balance (similar focus on all parts of our lives), and process (attending to both "doing" and "being"). The goals of the seminar are to increase basic knowledge of the coaching profession, to learn and practice two coaching strategies for staff and client empowerment, and to set individual action plans for professional and personal development.

ADVANCED REHABILITATION STUDIES

This certificate is for experienced rehabilitation professionals who want to be engaged, energized, and empowered within their professional practices. This program is co-designed with Dr. Jody Hawley. There are currently 6 modules:
